As Professor of Surgery and Global Health Medicine at the University of Washington (UW), Dr. Anderson was director of the Breast Health Clinic at UW and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) from 1996–2018. With joint faculty positions at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the UW Department of Global Health, he created and chaired the Breast Health Global Initiative (BHGI), which developed resource-stratified guidelines from 2002-2021 and now leads breast cancer efforts at WHO.
